OUR STORY
Here at Batty Sea Dogs Home Foundation (UK Ltd), our story began with the heartfelt journey of our co-founder, Sandra Hughes. Her experience is a testament to the power of compassion and the difference one person can make.
It all started with a simple holiday. While enjoying the beach, Sandra couldn't help but notice the stray dogs seeking shelter under beds and benches. These dogs, often overlooked and forgotten when the tourists left, tugged at her heartstrings. She saw their struggle for basic needs like food and water and knew she had to act.
Sandra's holiday visits soon turned into a mission. She began feeding and watering the dogs daily, giving them the care they so desperately needed. But Sandra wanted to do more. She sought advice on how to provide better care and was encouraged to share these dogs' stories online. This small step sparked a movement.
From this humble beginning, our foundation, the Batty Sea Dogs Home Foundation, was born. Our mission is simple but profound: to ensure that these dogs are not just fed and watered but are also given the medical care and love they deserve.
Now, we are working with local NGO's and have contacts with various organisations across South Goa to protect and help treat as many dogs as we possibly can.
